Job Description

As a GE Digital intern, you’ll work alongside the GE Digital WAMS Engineering Team to build the products we deliver to customers.

We’ll provide you with the mentorship and the opportunity to collaborate with expert Engineers, and work alongside other Digital Grid Software team members that deliver products that support the electrical grid and supervisory control systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• You’ll be responsible for programming a feature, or small feature set.
• Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile, CI Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques.
• Knowledgeable in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected.
• Preparation of internal documentation.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• You’ll be studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in STEM Computer Science or Programming in year 3 or 4.
• Must have familiarity with programming and knowledge of Java.
• A keen interest in technology and digitalization with the eagerness to learn
• Have expertise and knowledge in writing automation scripts for build and release processes
• Applied knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Open-minded to new ideas or Software practices
• You’ll have well developed communication skills both written and verbal
• You’ll be an excellent team player whilst maintaining an independent perspective.
• Considers different and novel solutions when faced with challenges
• Identifies opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas. Takes the initiative to experiment with new software frameworks
