
Software Engineering Intern Wilmslow, England
Job description
Working as part of the software team, you will be participating in various projects to develop and maintain software, progress on technical knowledge and contribute to team sprints.
Internships are paid for a period of 3 months over the summer period, and we will have 4 intake dates which will be communicated to you during the course of your application.
Our internship is hybrid, so it's important that you are able to be based near the Wilmslow site to build, maintain, test, review and document code under peer supervision.
During your Internship:
- Provide a proactive attitude toward team success, adding value where possible with
- Consistent contribution and a shared responsibility for organisational success.
- Demonstrate continuous technical improvement.
- Maintain automated test scripts – unit, component, API tests, workflow tests and UI tests
- Using relevant mock-ups and be responsible for ensuring they run without failure.
- Complete Quality System related actions in a timely manner according to procedures e.g. CAPA, NCR [deviation, material faults, internal audit, external audit]
- Responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the Quality system at the site via adherence to applicable policies and procedures
- Identify new, or changes to existing, processes and systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality system.
- Participate in and give feedback in team ceremonies and meetings.
- Actively participate in learning and sharing activities either during informal or formal training.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward work and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a science related subject.
- Academic experience in a relevant programming language (or related subject area) is required.
- Basic application of technical standards. Commercial experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under mentorship.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to work and interact in a team environment
