A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Digital team as a software engineer for our virtual assistant. The team is made of 4 squads of skilful engineers and BAs. You will own the code and look after the implementation of the feature end to end. We need someone to support the product as well as bringing strong innovative ideas.
You’ll be required to produce good quality code, look after the technical details, be proactive and motivated, and help the team to deliver the best VA product to our customers, participating in architectural decision, initiatives, working with other engineers and the business to ensure requirements are delivered promptly to our customers.

- Managing complex task end to end from development to release to final customers
- Delivering technical solutions to help our customer and business grow
- Providing the best solutions, participating in the decisions about our stack and architecture
- Ensuring the code has the right quality with right level of testing
- Analysing with the PO/BA requirements to understand our customer needs
What you’ll bring.
- Extensive experience in Application Development using Java
- Excellent working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience and extensive knowledge of Spring Boot platform, spring cloud and ORM Tools such as Hibernate
- Knowledge of continuous Integration and continuous delivery using Maven, Jenkins and the Nexus repository manager
- Understanding of core AWS services and basic AWS architecture best practices
- Knowledge of Docker, Git, GitHub, Openshift and MicroServices Architecture.
It would be nice for you to have.
- JavaScript coding experience
- AWS architecture knowledge
- Experience on Google Dialog Flow or any other intent based NLUs
- Salesforce CRM experience

This is a permanent position based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working available.
