Your role
As part of UBS’s Human Resources (HR) Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Analytics team, you will contribute UBS’s HR teams most ambitious and critical technology projects. You will play an important role to understand the data platform needs from other crews, work with architects and peers to design and deploy cutting edge data platform components in the cloud.
We are looking for an Software Engineer to join our team and help us to :
- design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees
- design, develop, test our HR data distribution solution based on data lake and data mesh design principles
- lead and effectively communicate and drive project deliverables as part of an agile team
- apply a broad range of engineering practices, from analyzing requirements and developing new features to automated testing, deployment, and operations
- build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
- share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities
- work as part of an agile development team that spans global locations challenging the status quo, innovating, and building great software
Your team
You’ll be working in the CDIO HR team in UBS London office. As an IT Software Engineer, you’ll play an important role in working with your whole team on timely delivery of CDIO HR projects. You may also be a scrum master.

Your expertise
- education focusing on Computer Science/ Engineering/ Science, or a related field
- prior experience of designing/developing large data distribution solutions leveraging service oriented / microservice architectures and/or data warehouse solutions
- designed and delivered Data Lake solution using Scala/Python with large and multi-format data
- experience with Databricks is preferred, upskilling in Databricks is required
- demonstrated ability to manage project scope
- experience in a similar position focused on the design, engineering and participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle in a regulated environment
- experience in cloud (Azure preferred) deployments and devops is preferable
- proven track of requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, coding, testing, and implementation providing support for real-time low latency, distributed software systems processing big data sets
- fluent in English and a strong communicator, both verbal and written
- results-driven with ability to deliver to tight timelines, proactive and comfortable working in dynamic environments with fast-paced deliveries and changing requirements
- proven experience in learning and applying new technology
