ASL/Pharmagraph is an established yet growing engineering company, we have around 70 employees, and we are looking for a new and valued member of our team. The Software Engineer position reports into the Technical Director and will be in a team of software professionals responsible for the requirements, design, construction, integration, testing verification and maintenance of Pharmagraph’s own enVigil family of software products.
The company’s products are used in environmental monitoring systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.
Roles & Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to the monitoring systems for Pharmagraph and ASL products:
- Development of Windows software in Visual Studio C++ and C#
- Utilise software engineering tools such as source code control, build processes and debuggers in the software development process.
- Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code and design reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
- Investigate current applications.
- Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
- Creation of software operating manuals.
- Creation of software qualification procedures.
- Test software products to ensure that they operate satisfactorily.
- Provide training to personnel on enVigil software solutions.
- Provide technical support to project engineers, sales engineers, service teams and distributors.
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced software engineers.
- Investigate new technologies.
- Share expertise throughout the organisation.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years industry experience in a similar role.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Visual Studio, C++, C#, SQL, Visual Basic, ActiveX, InstallShield
- Web Experience – HTML, XML, SOAP, JSON
- Database Experience – SQL Server, ODBC, SQLite
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience of working in a customer-focused role, delivering outstanding service.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
