We are looking for a software engineer to join our enterprise systems team in Cambridge. This is an amazing opportunity to work on back office systems used by our customer service, content and sales teams. We are a small team and reports to the Software Manager, and part of a larger IT services department. We have a great skill set in web based integrated applications systems and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in Oracle/Postgres/MySQL databases, experience of writing web applications (custom and with frameworks) and working on integrations (eg XML/JSON).
We are currently working on migrating systems between merged companies to reduce duplication and improve workflows.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- A graduate or early career. For graduates they should have worked on a project with web based database applications through either university project and/or completed an internship or placement year in industry.
- Strong knowledge of relational database design, SQL and programming user interfaces written against database or via a web service.
- We use Oracle.ADF, Oracle 19c database, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, Postgres and PHP for different applications in our team and JSON/XML integrations. Experience in a some of these areas is an advantage.
- We would like a degree in Computer Science or similar with strong A-Levels (or equivalent for non-UK educated applications).

- Working on legacy data systems migration
- Worked on real time integrations / services between different applications
- Jira for Agile development
- Github for source control
- Jenkins and AWS build processes
What will you be doing in this role?
You will be working on and enhancing a number of core business systems used within Clarivate including user interface and database design and coding.
Product you will be developing
Our products support internal users working on customer management, and content operations within our products. These are mostly Oracle based technologies, with some open source technologies and databases.

Our team is based across the UK, USA, and India, with this role based in Cambridge, UK, Our team includes Developers, System Analysts and QA.
Hours of Work
Full time permanent role based in London, UK.
