Full Time Edinburgh, Scotland 90000 - 75000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Software Engineering Lead required to join a growing med-tech product business in Edinburgh. You will be working on developing world-class products and services in a hugely innovative environment.

The company:

The company are over 10 years old and have recently grown from 40 individuals to around 100, with around another 40 heads due to be added this year. They operate within the tech-for-good software space and are responsible for creating a very specific product used in the healthcare industry.

Recently, the product has taken off and there is a great amount of interest in the company, from both a client perspective and investment.

The product function already has a Head of Delivery and VP of Product in place, and you will work very closely with the software development teams and manage the Technical Leads . You will join this ever-growing function as the work ramps up. In terms of flexibility, the company ask for someone to be in office at least during sprint cycles (couple of days a fortnight), but there is obviously the ability to come into the Edinburgh office as much as you'd like.

The role:

You will be managing a predominantly Agile and small team of 8 (including you), of mainly Software Engineers of varying levels. They are looking for people from a strong and innovative software background and experience of managing small and Agile teams. It would be great too if you have an understanding of Architecture as well as an input into systems design. The key however really is on the development of the team and making sure they grow and develop as individuals.

As you will be working in a small team, but a larger organisation, you will need to have strong stakeholder management skills, up to and including board level.

In terms of tech, they operate across both C# and Java, so are flexible on the individual's tech background. In terms of environment, it is a mix of SCRUM, KANBAN, DevOps, CI, TDD etc. The role is largely focused on management, but there is also a chance to do some coding on top of this.

Package & Office/Location:

The package on offer is strong overall, with great benefits. We are able to offer a base salary in the region of £70-90k depending on your experience/skills, as well as annual bonus and other flexible benefits.

This is an opportunity to work for one of Scotland's fastest growing tech employers and if you are a Software Development Manager / Engineering Manager keen to make your mark in a leading company, get in touch with Hamish at Cathcart Technology for a more detailed conversation.
