• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Program Management or related technical discipline• Minimum 6+ years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering or project management in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. (Experienced Project Design Engineer/Manager)· Minimum 2 years' experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management · Minimum 4 years' experience leading highly technical projects or programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering, or similar
Our COLO Project Engineers are;

- have experience with data center technologies like HVAC, power systems, cable plant, server, or networking.
- are adept at identifying and communicating upcoming risks, issues, and bottlenecks as well as being instrumental in resolving those issues, often cross multiple departmental boundaries to achieve goals.
- have a strong sense of organization, communication and team building skills that foster robust working relationships for both internal and external stakeholders.
In this role you will drive engineering and program strategy and deployment planning and ensure execution against the plans by the engineering teams. You will leverage data, working backwards to develop schedules and intermediate milestones, you will generate and maintain enhanced reporting, define and track meaningful KPIs, and identify process and tooling improvements to ensure engineering team’s efficiency. You will ensure visibility of the engineering portfolio to critical stakeholders and leadership.
You will partner with business development, multiple engineering teams, supply chain partners, operations teams, and project execution and delivery teams regularly. You will make strategic decisions regarding specific scopes and overall direction for engineering teams. You will be capable of connecting long-term strategies with rapid growth patterns of AWS, as well as guide specific operational needs of the business.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage Colocation Engineering Design scopes of work in collaboration with regional teams
- Manage the Colocation Design Engineering scope and portfolio including schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.
- Create strong end-to-end processes/mechanisms for the Colocation Engineering team including alignment and validation of success through metrics-based criteria.
- Interface with Engineering teams and business partners to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in work-products delivered. Standardize inputs/outputs globally.
- Own and track budgets and internal-program schedules for the Colocation Engineering scopes.
- Prepare narratives for executive leadership with recommendations which articulate decision points relative to costs, timelines, customer metrics and strategic trade-offs.
- Learn and understand the AWS data center lifecycle specific to Colocation sites and Engineering, globally.
- Provide direct support to Colocation Engineering teams including trainings.

• Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers [air-cooled and water-cooled], pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc...)• EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware)• Advanced degree in engineering, business, or related field• Project management experience for Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) or Mechanical Electrical Plumbing scopes • Fundamental understanding of building codes in the region• Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) or Management of Portfolios (MoP) CertificationAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
