Our team

During this apprenticeship, you will be part of the Workplace team within the Group Information Services (GIS) Department, which is responsible for 22,500 client devices used by internal Computacenter staff across 27 countries. As customers are Internal to Computacenter, we collaborate with all parts of the business to ensure that our services are suitable, secure and supported to meet the needs of the global Computacenter business.

There are four pillars within Workplace, with 75 members based over 8 geographies. These are, Microsoft 365 Services, Access and Identity Management, Service Development and End User Support.


About the apprenticeship Programme

Throughout your apprenticeship you will dedicate 80% of your time in work and 20% studying toward your qualification.


What you’ll be doing

  • Support to analyse and solve problems when learning complex IT systems.
  • Getting hands on experience in building devices
  • Be responsible for reporting and monitoring critical IT infrastructure
  • Help users solve problems with laptops and other devices.
  • Spend time with colleagues in UK (Hatfield) and Germany (Kerpen). May include other counties, dependant on requirement.

What should you bring with you?

As you can tell this exciting role will give you a lot of skills and knowledge, but we do have some requirements upfront.


As well as a strong interest in IT you should be able to demonstrate the following.


  • For the apprenticeship qualification, we require you to hold a minimum of two ’s at GCSE’s grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English Language.
  • You should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with internal employees across the company.
  • Have the willingness to learn as you will be learning new systems from day one.
  • Show attention to detail to highlight any issues that may need resolving.
  • You must also be confident in using computer software including Microsoft office
