About the role
As a Software Development Manager, you’ll lead on the design of first class solutions across technologies as well as lead and line manage a team of Developers.
Our existing technology stack involves .Net Framework/.Net Core, Sitecore, MVC, SQL with scope to influence and direct future choices. In this role you’ll take overall accountability for the quality of code outputs from the team as well deputise for the Head of Software Engineering.
Playing an active role in the development team, you’ll be hands on with coding and development activities, and will consult with users and external partners to understand requirements and frame solutions which are appropriate in terms of function, cost, timescale and benefits.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you
With significant relevant industry experience, you’ll have Excellent technical knowledge of C#, REST, .Net/.Net core HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, SQL, MVC, Bootstrap.
You’ll also have excellent technical knowledge of JavaScript and experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue or Next.js.
With extensive experience demonstrating web development experience on .NET, C#, SQL, ideally some of which includes Sitecore, you’ll have experience of leading and line-managing others, managing workflow, motivating the team to your vision and providing mentoring and career management.
You’ll have a strong depth of experience across technologies, as well as strong experience developing component designs, technical specifications and high-level architecting .NET, C# solutions, ideally with cloud-based deployment.
With experience designing, developing and implementing responsive websites using .NET and C# optimising responsive and accessible functionality, you’ll also have the following skills and experience:
- A first-class technical mind, effective at simplifying complex problems into component parts for delivery and articulating to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong depth of expertise across technologies, providing solution and technical guidance, management and hands-on development to deliver inspiring online products and world-class user experiences
- Demonstrable passion for taking the initiative to solve problems
- Strong level of adaptability, effective at managing a variety of personalities, situations and to support and apply positive change in the organisation or the role requirements
- Strong ownership, clarity of purpose and resilience in managing competing demands of your team and dealing with setbacks with a can-do attitude to delivering on objectives
- Excellent planning and organising competencies, effective at prioritising, scheduling and tracking work across dependencies taking account of deadlines, staffing and resource requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
