Get to know the Role
We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer for test automation. We believe a successful candidate has 5+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer / Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test and is familiar with one of the test scripts Python/Golang/Java experiment for product automation, but if you believe you have what it takes then we’d love to hear from you either way. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing automation tests for both backend services and mobile applications. This role is required because we are supporting the critical path and continually growing business. In return, you will get an opportunity to work with a creative team and help Southeast Asia people have a better life.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard test automation frameworks and tools for both backend services and mobile applications.
Lead team to define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as proposed tools for functional, security, and performance testing in a programmatic manner
Enable the team to create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data to ensure maximum test coverage and effectiveness.
Enable the team to perform functional, regression, and performance testing of backend services and mobile applications to identify defects and ensure product quality.
Understand the product/business/feature in-depth from the end-user's point of view and the underlying implementation. Collaborate with developers to analyze and troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed bug reports with clear steps to reproduce.
Work closely with the Product Manager, Frontend, and Backend developers to understand the context and the implementation to develop new automated tests and tools.
The Must-Haves
A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields
5+ years of experience as QA Engineer/ Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test
Solid understanding of test methodologies, test planning, and test case design
Have hands-on coding experience with test automation (Mobile app and API automation), including script languages (Python) or other languages (Javascript, Go etc.)
Hands-on experience in testing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
Proficiency in using various test automation tools and frameworks such as Appium Postman, Selenium, Mocha, TestNG, or similar.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Excellent communication skills, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills, enabling critical thinking for system growth and stability.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced dynamic team environment. Should have exposure to Agile and weekly sprint and release working models.
The Nice-to-Haves
Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as XCTest, Espresso, or XCUITest.
Proficiency in basic Linux commands and shell scripting
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Strong experience using build and release pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent
