Job description
Pets at Home Group, the UK's leading pet care specialist, is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Agile software development teams. As a Software Engineer, you will work on behalf of the Services development team, contributing to the delivery of Service implementations within our services layer.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Service solutions within an Agile environment.
- Maintain an appropriate level of documentation.
- Define and develop automated unit tests to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product management to define and enhance products under development.
- Contribute to the agile software development lifecycle.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software development using DotNet and/or DotNetCore.
- Strong understanding of Service-oriented design, software development principles, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of software/process/project lifecycles, with experience working in an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with frameworks, patterns, and practices used in software development, preferably with C#.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes.
- Experience engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD).
- Experience with cloud-native software implementations, particularly within an Azure environment.
- Technical Skills:
- .Net Core, C#, Web API, REST API, Azure, DevOps, Agile, TDD, Test-Driven Development, Unit Test, SOLID
