Salary: £30,151 - £38,296 DOE
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time - 36.25 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Location: Primarily atGreater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters

Introduction
We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our team at GMCA that is based in Swinton, Manchester. We’re a small team who are involved in a wide range of projects across the organisation where you’ll have a strong input into the design and implementation of the solutions we provide to the business. GMCA utilise hybrid working, a form of flexible working. For the purposes of GMCA, we define it as being a way of working that allows an individual to work in different locations based on the type of work being done, the needs of the team and the circumstances of the individual. Hybrid working could include working part of the day in the office and part at home, it could mean working at a different site, or it could mean working an entire day in one place, then maybe working somewhere else the following day.
Key Responsibilities
Working as a part of the Software Development Team you will:
· Work closely with clients to develop software applications using a variety of tools and techniques to a high standard.
· Be involved in the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and software design to release.
· Work on and manage multiple projects when required while working towards varying deadlines.
· Provide ongoing support to our existing applications and websites ensuring changes are managed via the necessary change management processes.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a candidate that has experience working with the following:
· Designing and developing accessible applications and websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
· Developing modern, responsive applications and websites using C# and .Net
· Writing SQL queries to provide CRUD operations to data stored in SQL Server databases or have equivalent skills in other relational database technologies.
Experience with the following will be an advantage:
· Experience with Umbraco CMS
· Experience with SharePoint Online
· Understanding of Azure Dev Ops or other Continuous Integration tools
· Experience and understanding of Version Control such as Git
· Internet Information Service (IIS)
· Developing applications and automation processes using the Microsoft Power Platform
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following abilities:
· Experience of troubleshooting/fault fixing technical problems
· An enthusiastic approach to work with an eye for detail and pride in a job well done.
· An ability to work independently and/or contribute and work as part of a busy team.
· An ability to mentor others when required.
· An ability to take the initiative and prioritise tasks effectively in line with team and directorate priorities.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advise at all levels.
· Ability to work flexibly and creatively as part of an effective team
