A bit about the role
We are looking for a Software Developer to compliment our internal team of developers. This role will support the current team working on new developments and enhancements to existing software.
This is an exciting time to join the DFS Technology Department as we strive to revolutionise the DFS Technology systems. The successful candidate will play an integral part in providing the business with information, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to produce world class solutions to support the future growth of the business.
Your Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small team of developers.
- Help specify, develop & test new programs
- Maintain and improve existing programs.
- Communicating with end users (stores, factories & Head Office) to ensure requirements are met.
- Produce user and technical documentation.
- Adhere to coding standards
- Provide input into application improvement plans.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become part of a Technology department where you can experience the full development lifecycle of technology solutions working with amazingly talented people in a growing and progressive team.
As the business has a growing need for access to information you will have the chance to build strong working relationships across the company and the opportunity to develop and broaden your skills by working on a variety of projects with both internal and external partners.
What we're looking for
Our Ideal Candidate
Should have an understanding of the following:
- Experience of C# .NET, HTML, CSS and SQL
- Experience of Front End frameworks (React, Angular, etc) is desirable but not essential
- Good communication skills
- Persuasive skills and ability to challenge
- Experience of design and programming on a variety of platforms and environments including Unix and Windows based operating systems
