Summary of the role:

The Software Developer role consists of day-to-day maintenance of the customer database and in-house software development, enabling creation and improvement of internal and customer-facing systems that meet the exact needs of the business. This will include ongoing development of the companies comprehensive CRM and LIMS system and a sophisticated business analytics package.

Software Developer Specification

Education and Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in computer systems and software development, or similar level STEM degree - Essential

Skills and Knowledge:

• General PC administration on workgroup and domain environments - Essential
• Proven skills and experience of software development essential, preferably using one or more of the desired technologies below - Essential
• Experience in the following software technologies: Linux (Centos, Debian, etc.), PHP, JavaScript, SQL databases - Desired • Administration of MS Windows and Apple Mac computers - Desired • Administration and customisation of SugarCRM or similar Customer Management database front-end - Desired
• Development and customisation of SugarCRM or similar Customer Management database through coding - Desired
• Experience with IDEs (integrated development environments) such as JetBrains PHPStorm - Desired

Abilities:

• Be able to learn new skills and build on existing skills through “on the job” experience - Essential
• Work cautiously with sensitive data while ensuring data integrity is protected at all times - Essential
• Be able to analyse and break down complex problems into manageable parts - Essential

Experience:

• Proven track record of relevant experience in systems and software development - Desired

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £40,000.00 per year
