Software Developer
London
As a Barclays Software Developer, you’ll work directly with traders and other markets stakeholders as well as colleagues in risk and quantitative analytics. You will build and maintain web applications, Python and C# tooling that improves trading capabilities and intraday risk management. You’ll work with stakeholders directly, understanding and delivering requirements from the desks. You will be responsible for establishing best practices and use your experience to help us transition towards single page applications.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
- Taking complete ownership of the design, development & delivery processes
- Performing code reviews to meet highest standards
- Providing robust and reliable support to the users of application
- Becoming a subject matter expert in a business facing web application
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Being responsible for establishing best practices and use your experience to help the transition towards single page applications
What we’re looking for:
- In depth knowledge and experience in one or more object orientated languages (Python, C# Java etc.)
- Experience building complex software systems that have made it into production
- Proficient in using standard CI/ CD tools and source control tools (e.g. Teamcity, GIT)
- Writes automated unit and end to end tests for features
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Solid JavaScript experience, preferably React
- Recent experience working in C#, Python and Dash
- Cloud Skills, preferably AWS
- Some scripting experience (Bash, Powershell)

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
