Job description
Take a step into East Sussex Social Work
East Sussex Youth Justice Service are looking to recruit a Social Worker who can demonstrate a high level of professional practice and a good understanding of the issues related to adolescents and the safeguarding issues that may arise through their involvement in anti-social and criminal behaviours as well as their exposure to criminal and sexual exploitation.
This is an exciting role and will form part of the developing specialist adolescent service offer. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team which will provide an assessment and casework function for children engaging with the YJS who are Child in Need, subject to Child Protection plans and those who are Looked After by virtue of their remand status across East Sussex. The post holder will also be responsible for the delivery of pre-court and court ordered interventions for children in the criminal justice system. As part of the broader service development for adolescents in East Sussex, the YJS plays an active role in the development and delivery of contextual responses and a willingness to innovatively and flexibly meet the needs of this cohort is essential for the role.
You will be self-motivated, organised, able to engage adolescents with complex and challenging presentations and deliver a broad range of trauma informed interventions to reduce the risk and harm associated with their offending and exposure to exploitation.
Full time, part time may be considered.
