Location: The Council House, Derby
Derby City Council Adult Social Care are looking for a qualified social worker to join the Safeguarding Adults and Professional Standards Team. This role is primarily based within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at the Council House alongside colleagues from partner agencies including the police and the NHS.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to undertake initial safeguarding adult enquiries, providing a rapid response to safeguarding adult concerns. This includes carrying out initial assessments and working in partnership with citizens and relevant agencies to develop proportionate and empowering safety plans to protect people from harm and prevent abuse from reoccurring.
This is a fast-paced and challenging role that requires a high level of skill and expertise, and the ability to work under pressure. We are looking for a social worker who is passionate about safeguarding adults and person-centred, strengths-based practice, who can prioritise their workload, exercise professional curiosity and work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking for a positive and creative social worker, with an excellent value base putting citizens at the heart of practice, who has experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act (2014). The successful candidate will have a up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and policy and key areas of practice in safeguarding adults and will also be a reflective practitioner who has a desire to grow and develop in their professional practice. Excellent communication skills, the ability to build sound working relationships with professionals across all relevant disciplines and a team-focused approach are all important attributes needed for this role.
