Social workers in Blackburn with Darwen play a lead role in delivering professional services to safeguard the welfare of the most vulnerable members of our communities and trying to ensure that people can remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
Blackburn with Darwen’s Learning Disability Service is a co-located multi-disciplinary health and social care team. Hence, you will benefit from input from a range of colleagues to support you in your role and work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
The Team undertakes a varied and interesting role which requires working with adults and young people in transition who having learning disabilities and their families in their own homes, supported living arrangements, residential and hospital environments.
We welcome applications from newly qualified and experienced social workers. For appointment at the senior social work grade, we require that you demonstrate how you have enhanced your skills through gaining one or more of the following post qualifying awards: Best Interest Assessor, Practise Educator or Approved Mental Health Professional.
