Why choose the SAIFT team?
The Specialist Assessment, Intervention and Family Time Team (SAIFT) sit alongside Support and Safeguarding and undertake complex parenting assessments for children and young people who are subject to pre and care proceedings, on their behalf.
The team have also recently launched a Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) in collaboration with the Family Court in Swindon. FDAC is rooted in the idea of problem-solving justice, where Courts use their authority to address the complex social issues that bring people before them. Those who access the FDAC process are parent/s whose substance misuse difficulties (drugs and/or alcohol) are significantly impacting on their parenting capacity.
About the role
As a Social Worker, you would be allocated a number of complex assessments however you would not case hold and as such, are afforded the ability to fully focus on your assessments. The nature of the role means that although you will have ample work, you are afforded autonomy and flexibility in terms of your workload which helps to promote a positive work/life balance.
Our flexible approach is also promoted through our digital culture; you will be provided with a laptop and mobile enabling you to work remotely from one of our resource centres as well as having the flexibility to work from home.
The team are well established, but at the same time, we are constantly developing in order to optimise practice. With this brings an opportunity to be creative within your role as well as the opportunity to grow and develop as a professional. Several of the staff within the team have developed their interest in particular areas of practice and now support others across the service in these areas.
