Job description
We are to seeking to appoint a qualified social worker to join our successful team and contribute to the development and delivery of our family placement services. The key tasks are to recruit, train, assess, supervise and support foster carers in order to ensure placement stability and that the needs of our children in care are met. Some of the hours made up in the post will be dedicated to the worker looking at developing our recruitment, retention publicity strategies in relation to fostering. This will involve you putting on publicity events in relation to fostering and private fostering and undertaking initial visits to prospective fostering families. This will put you at the heart of Children and Family Services and will involve working with professionals from a number of different backgrounds.
The successful candidate will also be required to undertake family placement duty tasks on a rota basis.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
