SDSU is seeking a motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Lead Facility Workers for our Facilities & Services department. We have two (2) positions available, both as night shift lead during the hours of 10pm – 6:30am Sunday – Thursday.
Job Responsibilities:
Night Shift Lead: Assist in providing work direction and training to employees; delegate and assign work in the absence of the Custodial Services Supervisor I; provide building services to SDSU facilities so others may learn and work in a clean and safe environment, including hard surface floor maintenance, carpet and restroom care, building security and various maintenance tasks.
Night Shift Lead/Floater: Assist in providing work direction and training to employees; delegate and assign work in the absence of the Custodial Services Supervisor I; provide building services to SDSU facilities so others may learn and work in a clean and safe environment, including hard surface floor maintenance, carpet and restroom care, building security and various maintenance tasks. As a floater this position will move between areas across campus to assist with covering vacancies.

- Complete quality checks, ensuring guidelines, requirements and processes are followed.

- Bend, stretch, climb ladders, twist, and walk.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
Required License: Valid Driver’s License
Comments: Night shift is eligible for a $1.25 shift differential. Prior professional cleaning background is preferred. Applicants should detail cleaning experience, including specific duties performed and equipment used on the application. SDSU is a tobacco free environment. It is the policy of the University to maintain a drug-free environment and to thereby establish, promote, and maintain a safe and healthy working and learning environment for employees and students. This position is subject to South Dakota State University’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy 4:14. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
