PASSIONATE Young Person’s Support Worker to join a Childrens Residential service in
Norton Canes. You will be Supporting young people between the ages of 9-19 with
Learning/Physical disabilities, complex health needs and autism.

The role:
What you will be doing as a Young Person’s Support Worker:
● To ensure that the children are safe and protect them from risks to their health and
welfare
● All aspects of care including personal care
● To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
● Keeping on top of household chores such as cleaning & doing laundry
● To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
● Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their
independence and well-being.
● Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the individual’s care plan, guidelines, reward
system and preferred method of communication.
● Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
● Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social
Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people’s lives
such as Psychologists.
The successful candidate:
What you will need to be a successful Young Person’s Support Worker:
● You MUST be willing to carry out personal care duties
● Ideally be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time
to time
● You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and
communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others
● You MUST be able to commute to Norton Canes
