Support Worker in St Neots, PE19
£10.50 per hour - Up to 18 hours per week
About the service user
I am 46 years old and live with my wife and three children. I have left sided hemiplegia following a brain haemorrhage and stroke, I have reduced eye sight and epilepsy.
I like to be as independent as my condition allows, I am mobile using sticks I also use a power chair.
You should know 2 cats and 2 dogs share our home.
Hours and rate of Pay
Up to 18 hours per week – 5 hrs on a Monday & Tuesday from 8.30am, 4 hrs Wednesday from 9am + 4hrs on a Saturday or Sunday as required.
£10.50 per hour
What you would be doing
Supporting me to get up showered and dressed, I am independent once in the shower I just need support to get dry and dressed.
Getting breakfast & medication together and ready for the day.
The role requires a lot of walking as I spend 1-2 hours per day outside, most of which I am in a powered chair, it is really important that you are able to walk long distances (can be 20,000+ steps a day).
The person I would like
If you have experience of supporting others that would be great but is not essential if you have the right personality and desire to integrate with my family.
You will be someone who has a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, someone who will promote my independence, with the motivation to develop trust and understanding in the role.
It is important that you are reliable committed, honest and trustworthy with a cheerful demeanour.
If you can drive that would be great as I have a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
