Job description

Medical & Surgical Wards

At South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, Our Vision is clear. We want to provide the best possible healthcare to our population. This means using our resources well and making sure our care is of the highest standard possible.

Competent Clinical Support Workers are essential to assist us with managing the patient flow through our organisation, specifically at Warwick Hospital, and onwards into the local community and other services. This is one of a number of initiatives aimed to make the patient’s journey through our services as good as it can be.

We are now recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker to join our nursing teams based at our main hospital sites in Warwick. Opportunities will be across our medical and surgical wards. This is a fantastic opportunity which will provide you with the foundations of a career route within the healthcare industry.

Your role will be to support and assist healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors and other integrated healthcare professionals in the delivery of quality patient care and the general wellbeing and comfort of patients. You will learn a range of skills from supporting and helping your patients with their individual needs, practical clinical observations to more specialised procedures depending on the areas in which you work.

You will have a mature, caring, compassionate and sensitive manner with a genuine desire and passion to help people. You must have the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy with good practical skills inspiring confidence and trust to all patients. All our support workers need to apply a non-judgmental attitude to care and have a clear understanding of confidentiality.

We are accepting applications for full and part time positions - working shifts which include days, nights and weekends. (Plus unsociable hours allowance).

SWFT is recognised as an ‘employer of choice’ and is highly recommended as a place to work. Our employees are as important to us as the care we give to our patients. We will ensure the right support is available to you, support career development, provide a friendly work environment alongside other benefits such as a generous holiday entitlement, access to a great pension scheme alongside many organisational benefits.

We support learning and educational environment to ensure all employees have the right skills and knowledge to carry out their roles competently. All employees at SWFT will complete the Care Certificate which means you will be trained to a specific set of standards providing evidence you have the right knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide the best care.

There will be opportunity to complete an apprenticeship at Level 2 or 3 depending on previous experience where you can obtain a ‘Healthcare Support Worker’ qualification.
