Salary: £11.95 per hour
Location: Hammersmith (and surrounding area)
The primary role of a Support Worker at HF Mencap is to directly support our clients, people with a learning disability and/or autism. You will work with your clients to help them live a happy and fulfilled life and one that is as independent life as possible by accessing activities within our activities centre and out in the community.
Examples include:
- Keeping fit with our personal trainer.
- Learning how to improve digital skills in our 'Let's Get Digital' Workshops.
- Learning about health and wellbeing.
- Local days out to popular parks, restaurants and pubs.
- Movie nights.
- Bowling.
- Swimming.
You will support them to develop positive relationships and to be an equal and valued member of their local community. Working for HF Mencap you will be expected to provide an outstanding service that provides a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life for the people we support.
Duties:
The duties below are not exhaustive:
- Personal care - assisting with showering, using the bathroom and getting ready after swimming etc.
- Excellent communication skills/relationship building – supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion- supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- You are able to keep accurate records, carrying out all recording and reporting in a person-centered, factual manner.
- You work safely and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance so our clients can trust, feel safe and have confidence in the support we provide.
