Behavioural Support Worker – Part Time (15 hours) – 18 month fixed-term contract:
Hamelin Trust are seeking a Behavioural Support Worker to work across our services in Rochford, Wickford, and Billericay.
This is the ideal role for an aspiring psychologist looking to further their experience and gain practical knowledge in their field.
An exciting opportunity has arisen join Hamelin Trust in a new role providing Behavioural Support across our services. The post holder will join an established team supporting guests with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities, with behavioural needs who may display behaviour that challenges.
This is a highly rewarding role which will see the post holder working closely with staff members and guests to provide exceptional, person-centered behavioural support.
Main Duties Include:
· Assist in the implementation of person-centred programmes, utilising Positive Behaviour Support best practice.
· Support guests by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems and enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
· Aid with the development of Care plans and approaches for guests in relation to behavioural support.
· Support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., challenging behaviour.
· Ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible.
· Promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard
Required Qualifications, Skills and Criteria:
· 6 months experience supporting individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism.
· Previous experience providing behavioural support.
· The ability to work flexibly during evenings and weekends as and when required.
Preferred qualifications
· Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
