You will be responsible for the growth of i-D’s audience across social channels with a strong focus on Instagram and TikTok, as well as social traffic growth for i-d.vice.com. It is the perfect role for someone with experience who loves social platforms, creating content for those platforms and has a keen interest in fashion. You need to be plugged into the global fashion industry, and keen on design, emerging talent, news and all the trends happening on TikTok, pop culture, fashion week runways and beyond.
In the short term…
You will work with the Social Media Director to keep i-D’s social channels populated
You will shoot and edit social video content within i-D’s social slate to a high standard
You will commission talent to produce self-shot content as well as freelance video producers to assist with content creation when required
You will take ownership of various social media platform schedules and social video slates
You will attend regular meetings internally and become an ambassador for the i-D social team externally.
After a year in this role…
You will increase the amount of content posted on socials each week, taking ownership of the production of social franchises.
You will work closely with senior figures across the editorial, fashion and commercial team to shape the voice of i-D across social platforms
You will recognise talking points within the fashion industry and youth culture and ensure that these are presented to i-D’s audience on social media.
You will have begun developing a network within fashion and the creative industries of talent PRs, publicists, writers and photographers with whom you collaborate with regularly on social content for i-D.
You will identify social content opportunities with top-level and up-and-coming talent and negotiate their entry onto i-D’s social channels.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate and use knowledge of trending topics and relevant talent within youth culture and fashion to source and pitch content ideas.
Work with the Social Media Director, Head of Video and Digital Art Director to create and develop social video strategies and formats.
Frequently shoot and edit social video content to a high standard on location, demonstrable knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is essential.
Assist in coordinating a programming calendar that optimizes content performance to populate i-D’s social media platforms on a 24/7 schedule.
Report on weekly platform growth, social engagement and referral breakdowns, whilst using these insights to inform editorial and video teams.
Work with the i-D international editors and social media teams across the VICE network to ensure i-D content reaches its maximum traffic potential.
Assist in the creation of activation plans for tentpole video releases and help create platform-specific video assets for multiple platforms.
Edit headlines to maximize click-through rates and increase engagement on all stories.
Identify the most compelling visuals to accompany i-D’s web content, and package those for effective sharing.
You have these:
Experience shooting and editing video content for a culture, fashion and/or lifestyle publication
Strong Experience using Premiere Pro
An encyclopedic knowledge of fashion, pop culture and TikTok Trends
An eye for detail when it comes to fact-checking, grammar-checking and spelling
Relationships with fashion houses, designers and PRs.
We’d love if you also have these:
A degree in fashion, arts and/or cultural publishing
Experience using social media schedulers
A background in fashion and contacts in the industry
Key deliverables:
To shoot and edit 1-2 pieces of social video content for i-D’s social channels a day
To schedule content for i-D’s social channels with 24/7 calendar in mind
To develop and take ownership of at least 2 social video strands per quarter
To represent i-D at press days, Fashion Week events and more.
To be an ambassador for the business at all times.
