We have a fantastic opportunity to join our forward thinking and dynamic Communications & PR function, assisting in driving forward WCHG’s digital first approach and communicating in the organisations voice.
The Social Media Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and developing WCHGs social media presence, contributing to the design, development, planning and implementation of an absolute best-in-class social media content delivery.
This is a hands-on role that requires an understanding of social media platforms, content creation, trends, and best practices.
We'd like you to Develop and execute social media strategies to build brand awareness and increase our online presence (Paid & Organic). Whilst simultaneously be responsible for the management and maintenance our social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.

We are a social housing provider that wants to ensure our customers have the best possible experience with us. To this end, we use data-based decisions to continually improve their experience.
As such you will need to analyse social media performance metrics and provide regular reports on key insights, trends, and campaign effectiveness.
There will be required collaboration with the wider Communications team to align social media activities with overall objectives, projects and campaigns.
You will need to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices to continuously improve our social media presence.

What will you bring to the role?*
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who has proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
We would expect you to work with the business as a whole to assist in informing objectives, requirements and strategic goals, whilst implementing solutions across the group.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships will come naturally to you and you should be able to evidence your ability to operate at all levels across the business, with customers and 3rd parties. Equally, you will have strong negotiation and influencing skills and won’t be afraid to challenge the status quo when needed.
Key skills and experience required:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong creativity and ability to generate innovative ideas for engaging social media content
- A strong understanding of software such as Canva and Biteable is desirable
- Proficient in using social media management and analytics tools
- Familiarity with social media audience targeting and campaign optimisation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills to track and measure the success of social media initiatives
- Understanding of SEO principles and how they relate to social media strategies
