Job description
Department
The Communications team engages a wide range of UK and international audiences to foster a shared understanding of our University’s vision and strategy - a University for public good.
Our global audiences include celebrating and inspiring our community of staff, students and alumni, as well as supporting student recruitment, engaging partners and collaborators, and promoting our research and education to evidence the role and value of universities in society.
Role
As a Social Media Producer, you will work with the University’s social media team and be responsible for promoting our Faculty of Social Sciences, with a key focus of responsibility on supporting channels for our School for Business and Society.
You will be line-managed within the University’s Communications team, with a ‘dotted’ line into marketing and recruitment in the Faculty.
The Social Media Producer will be involved in developing strategies for the ongoing management and growth of School and Department social media presence across platforms, which may include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Part of this role will also include managing specific Department / School channels, including writing, designing, producing, editing, collaborating on and distributing engaging social media content, including visual and audio content.
You’ll use your knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, social media to produce best practice guidance for colleagues and other teams, and to generate creative and innovative ideas for our channels. By monitoring engagement across our channels, you will highlight successful activities to be built upon, and less successful activities to be reduced.
