Social Media Officer
Annual Salary: £22,000 to £24,000 depending on experience + pension
Contract: Initially 6 months with the view to extend
Location: Remote working with a monthly meeting in Settle, N Yorkshire.
Closing date: 28th February at 12pm
Start date: As soon as possible
Job Type: Full-time, part time minimum 30 hours

Settle Stories is looking for a confident and creative Social Media Officer to join our team and take ownership of our social media communications channels.
As a key player in our small and friendly team, you will lead on the management and delivery of our social media channels across all of Settle Stories’ brands (including Yorkshire Festival of
Story, Stories for Schools and Storyversity), finding new and creative ways to engage our audiences and increase our brand identity.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, working on your own initiative whilst also connecting with the wider team, clients and partners on a regular basis. You’re passionate about using social media as an agent of positive change and making a real-world impact through your work.
You’ll love designing assets, editing reels and communicating stories through creative content.
And, most importantly, you couldn’t imagine life without social media!
Key duties will involve:
● Organic and paid social media management
● Creative content and asset creation using Adobe Suite or Canva (or similar)
● Using analytics tools for social media optimisation
● Smartphone photography and reel creation
Person Specification
Essential experience:
● Understanding of social media and web platforms, how they work, how people use them and how a brand can build audiences and engagement online
● Experience of using social media, online content, and platforms as part of an integrated audience engagement approach
● Experience in using tools and technology such as social listening tools, social media metrics and website analytics tools to gain insight into existing and potential audiences and apply that learning to audience engagement activities
● Experience in developing creative content for online platforms which engage audiences (a focus on social media and website content is essential but we welcome other digital content experiences e.g. email marketing)
● Experience in developing and running successful social media and online campaigns, accounts, and activities
● Experience in developing and adapting/editing copy, imagery, film and other digital assets for social and web platforms
● Experience in measuring and evaluating the impact of digital engagement activity and adjusting approaches to achieve desired outcomes
● Understanding of the barriers to digital engagement and how we can work in an inclusive way so everyone can take part
● Excellent organisational skills
Desirable experience:
● Experience in delivering other digital marketing activities including email marketing, SEO/SEM
● Experience supporting live events, helping to curate the live experience through social channels
● Experience in developing accessible content online
● Experience in content strategy linked to media or cultural programming
● Experience of using Google GSuite
● Ability to update WordPress site
