Job description
We’re looking for an English speaking moderator to join our remote moderation team.
The role will involve monitoring user-generated content on social media platforms, regular reporting and working closely with our Social Media Managers. A passion for current affairs, breaking news stories and an interest in sport is key to this role and you should demonstrate this clearly in your application.
All applicants need to be based in the UK and speak English to native level.
The role will require you to work as part of a rota system. The hours for this project are laid out below, but you must be prepared to work evenings and weekends if the scope of the project changes over time. You will also be required to provide cover sickness absence and/or annual leave on occasion.
The shift patterns for this role is as follows:
Pattern A
Wednesday 0000-0300 and 1600-1700
Fridays 1600-1700 and 2200-0000
Sunday 2200-0000
Pattern B
Mondays 1600-1800
Wednesday 1300-1500
Fridays 0000-0300, 2000-2200
- Working with a team of moderators to ensure user-generated content e.g. comments, photos and videos that are uploaded to our client social network pages and online communities agree with Terms of Use and Community Guidelines; removing inappropriate content and managing problem users
- Encouraging discussion within our online communities and responding to user questions, concerns and feedback, according to client guidelines and requirements
- Assisting with the production of regular client reports on community activity statistics, key issues, feedback, trends and insights
- Ad hoc escalation of urgent issues, customer service or technical questions, and moderation policy queries
- Providing a ‘community synopsis’ of the top issues and points of view from community moderators and community users
- Working alongside our Social Media Managers to deliver excellence
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- A passion for social media and knowledge of the latest trends and platforms
- An excellent understanding of the habits and idiosyncrasies of social media users
- A passion for current affairs and breaking news stories
- An interest in sport preferable
- Confident user of multiple social media networks
- An understanding of potential risks within social media spaces
- Previous moderation experience is an advantage
