Social Media Manager and Content Producer

Part Time - 25 Hours per Week

Location: Stony Brook, NY

GRAVITAS, an online extension of The Stony Brook School, is adding a Social Media Manager and Content Producer to our team. This highly driven individual needs a passion for social and marketing in order to plan and develop campaigns, and the creativity to craft compelling content in order to maximize the potential of each channel while maintaining brand consistency and integrity.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the country's most prestigious Christian academic institutions as a member of a talented, entrepreneurial team reporting to the Executive Director of GRAVITAS. With talented students from around the country and around the globe coming to us from a variety of faith backgrounds, potentially world-changing ministry opportunities abound. Responsibilities

  • Manage social media accounts for Gravitas to increase engagement on different channels including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • Develop a strategy to increase followership for all platforms and analyze results to ensure marketing spend is maximized.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share marketing and educational video content for social media and YouTube
  • Develop, manage and maintain timelines.
  • Manage Gravitas production studio
  • Manage YouTube channel
  • Monitor, analyze and report on performance across channels providing reporting of appropriate KPI's, opportunities and insights.
  • Teach video production and social media marketing to teenagers and work with them on content production
  • Consult and coordinate with internal teams on tactical and strategic social media plans.

Qualifications

  • BA in marketing, film, communications or similar field required
  • Demonstrated experience growing social media followership for a brand
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from social media metrics and marketing data
  • Commitment to the mission of Gravitas and The Stony Brook School
  • Strong aesthetic sensibilities and keen attention to detail
  • High productivity and ability to stay on task
  • Creative writing skills and ability to communicate a variety of messages while keeping the brand voice consistent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social trends and latest social platform features.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders including senior management and vendors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for social media platforms, and use of social media tools including Buffer and Hootsuite.
