Job Title: Social Media and Marketing Apprentice
Responsible to: Head of Marketing, Fundraising and Commercial Partnerships
Hours per week: 37.5 hours; evening and weekend working essential.
Salary: £5.28 - £10.42 dependent upon age and apprenticeship level

Pompey in the Community (registered charity no. 1126118) is an independent charitable trust affiliated to Portsmouth Football Club. We harness the motivational power of Portsmouth Football Club to promote education, healthy living, sporting participation and achievement amongst participants of all ages. We run programmes in coaching, health, inclusion and education and support Portsmouth Football Club with Match Day activities including mascots and ball retrievers.
This position is ideal for those who have an interest in social media and/or digital marketing. We are looking for someone to help promote our organisation, our programmes, our successes as well as our fund-raising campaigns. You will be working as part of a small team and will work on marketing briefs and instructions. You will have the opportunity to use your own initiative and use your own creativity and innovation.
We will support you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in this exciting and expanding sector. As well as gaining technical abilities and practical experience you will develop the functional and personal skills required for the job you are undertaking.
You will work closely with the Portsmouth Football Club marketing and social media teams and will have the opportunity to play and active role on match days.
PiTC are completing the construction of a new community hub over the coming year with 3G pitches, gym, classrooms and community café; you will be instrumental in supporting the promotion and fund raising during the construction phase. “The John Jenkins Stadium” will be one of the largest community facilities in Portsmouth over the coming year so it will be an exciting opportunity to play a part in its development.
- Assisting with day-to-day marketing tasks and coordinating projects and activities as requested.
- Creating social media content to promote the charities activities and programmes
- Filming and photographing activity to ensure a recent library of content is available at all times.
- Creating interesting and engaging social media content to appeal to new and existing customers.
- Organising the production of branded items such as stationery and merchandise
- Producing additional marketing communications, such as flyers, brochures and exhibition-related projects
- Setting up tracking systems for marketing campaigns and online activities.
- Working with our partners and sponsors to ensure we meet our commitments.
- Track competitor activity by keeping abreast of market changes and the marketing mix used by competitors.
- Assisting with the production of artwork, sourcing images, print buying and checking copy.
- Produce clear and concise written correspondence in the form of letters and emails.
- Work with Portsmouth Football Club media team to ensure clear communication between organisations and to utilise their larger social media reach where appropriate.
We are looking to recruit two roles:
- One role will focus on the football pathway and football participation.
- The second will be more focused on community projects and fund-raising events and activities.
We are open to applicants who would like to undertake either a Level 3 qualification or Level 4 qualification depending upon their qualifications and experience.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to attend training and complete apprenticeship requirements as required.

Qualifications
Essential
Maths & English GCSE 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 and provide certificates.
General
To represent Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Community Football Club in a professional manner at all times, regarding to uniform, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism. To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires including evenings, weekends, and match days
Other Duties
· To comply with the requirements of the staff handbook.
