The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the, high-quality content (primarily videos and photos) for the DeKalb County Animal Services social media pages. This role is responsible for creating, posting, responding and joining relevant conversations on behalf of LifeLine on various social media and online channels. Working closely with the marketing team, this position will promote the needs of the shelter through strong branded social media content creation, increase LifeLine’s social media footprint, and highlight lifesaving programs and initiatives. This position is very hands-on with animals, including medium to large dogs, at our DeKalb shelter in order to create videos and photographs that help save lives and drive adoptions, donations and awareness. This position also contributes to overall marketing efforts including flyer creation, branding, brainstorm, video production and campaign development.

· Create engaging video and photo content for DeKalb County Animal Services Facebook and Instagram.
· Brainstorm and assist with content creation for LifeLine’s TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Nextdoor, and other social media platforms.
· Photograph, write and post bios for shelter animals’ online adoption listings.
· Coordinate with shelter departments to develop content that supports adoptions, donations and volunteer activities. Work with the marketing team to support and promote LifeLine events, programs and initiatives.
· Address customer feedback and concerns via Google reviews and social media.
· Promote positive conversations and escalate any concerns.
· Help post, promote and oversee content on LifeLine Facebook groups to inform and engage our supporters and community.
· Coach and leverage volunteer content teams on the content they provide for social media and online adoption profiles.
· Support Placement team with in-shelter customer support as needed.
· Support Animal Care team with daily animal caretaking duties as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Knowledge of photography, videography and content creation
· Strong DSLR photography and video editing skills
· Customer service experience preferred
· Expertise in major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok
· Professional experience using social media for business success a plus
· Excellent and professional written communication skills
· Flexibility to react to changes in shelter priorities
· Animal handling and behavior experience
· Must love animals and be able to handle large dogs comfortably
· Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
· Must be available to work on weekends.
· Must pass background check.
· Must like animals!
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. One+ years’ experience in animal related field preferred.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and interpret kennel policy guidelines and policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively to kennel visitors and provide good customer services skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· Valid, Georgia Drivers license may be required.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to a kennel that is not air-conditioned and may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells.
Job Type: Full-time
