We are currently seeking a creative and agile thinking Content Social Media Manager to join our mighty and accomplished Brand Marketing team to manage the content strategy for our first ever city outpost, Gleneagles Townhouse, Edinburgh.
Showcasing Gleneagles Townhouse as Gleneagles’ first members’ club, luxury city hotel and all-day restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh, ensuring Townhouse not only becomes part of the fabric of the city, but also an aspirational destination for socialising for our private members and guests alike.
First and foremost, we're looking for a brilliant storyteller, to curate the longer-term narrative of the Townhouse story, chapter by chapter, day by day and week by week. Experience and a natural flair for words and storytelling is vital for this role. The when, where and how people consume content may have changed, but what makes good content has not. We want someone who loves and understands the creative process.
The on target earning potential for this role is £40,500 / annual salary annual salary - comprising a base salary of £37,000, plus a qualified estimate of £3,500 in gratuities and service charge.* As a member of the Gleneagles team, you will also enjoy a fantastic range of perks, benefits and rewards.
Location: This role will balance time between The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder and Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh. Auchterarder is just off the A9, making Gleneagles within easy reach of a number of Scottish towns and cities: Edinburgh City Centre (1hr), Glasgow or Dundee (50mins), Stirling and Perth (25mins).

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:
- As a social media native, you’re passionate about increasing our brand reach and creating positive brand sentiment across our digital channels through engaging and relevant content that helps grow Townhouse’s membership base, drives bookings in The Spence at breakfast, lunch, dinner (and everything in between) and generates overnight guest stays at Townhouse
- Creating and evolving a content strategy which encompasses the Townhouse’s key brand pillars and aligns to the wider business plans, owning and managing your own budget and ensuring all spend aligns to both marketing plans and commercial insight
- Working with Head of Brand Journey Content to understand overall brand plans priorities and adapting these to deliver a monthly calendar of activity; with support from an external agency, you’ll also oversee the day-to-day community management across all Townhouse platforms ensuring continuous positive brand engagement
- Exploring, testing and learning relevant content in new formats and channels (such as TikTok, YouTube, live streaming, audio, Pinterest etc.) to increase brand reach and engagement; you'll also track performance of activity, integrate into marketing dashboards and review improvements where relevant
- The brand guardian for Gleneagles Townhouse and The Spence across our social channels, you’ll help evolve both brands' tone of voice, ensuring all content celebrates and embraces our brand values and brand strategy, appealing to new audiences
- Working alongside the Head of Brand PR Partnerships to amplify relevant content from brand partnerships and support content from influencers, creating long-term brand advocacy and widening our reach
- Developing standalone organic social campaign creative ideas throughout the year, as well as supporting the amplification of integrated campaigns where relevant; working alongside the rest of the team to write and develop engaging content for our websites which not only help tell the story of our brand but also support SEO strategy
- Using your strong photography, videography editing skills to create great content – shooting, creating and posting on social 'on the fly' when needed to create an ‘always on’ buzz and energy around both brands
- Owning the delivery of day-to-day, month-to-month communications to consumers and members, such as monthly newsletter communication and campaign-specific emails; for specific campaigns, you’ll also plan and manage photoshoots, from briefing photographers and videographers, to providing art direction, managing the utilisation of assets and ensuring our investment aligns to content and business plans
- Collaborating with other members of the Content team on the development of our bi-annual Townhouse magazine; owning the research, planning, copywriting, production and delivery in print and digital formats for both properties
- Keeping up-to-date with technology changes in the industry and consumer insight to continuously develop our channels and use them to their full potential; guided by digital search trend analysis to develop the right content plan that will resonate with our target audiences
- In collaboration with our internal Brand Marketing team, you’ll develop content to support paid and organic channels that increase traffic to our websites and booking engines with a primary focus on converting memberships, driving restaurant bookings and overnight stays
- Working alongside our internal PR, Membership and Brand Manager teams looking after membership, members events, Leisure and FB to support Gleneagles Townhouse events and experiences, ensuring we secure maximum exposure from those events; you’ll also work alongside our creative design agency to help you bring to life some your creative ideas
- Using social media management software (Later/Canva/Sprout/Hootsuite or other services) for social media scheduling and supporting the high-quality creation of your content
- Supporting the wider business with content and copy needs which support our communications and also lend themselves towards your own content plans, achieving economies of scale across channels; always aligning content to our brand strategy with consistency and tone of voice across all your content
- Undertaking competitor analysis and brand sentiment tracking to feed into the wider business insight and help teams understand changes in yield or industry performance; referring to Google Analytics and other sources, to review any commercial return to your activity and learn from that insight to evolve your plans where relevant
- Receiving briefs from the Marketing Director and other senior stakeholders across the business; you’ll then bring to life their aspirations for specific campaigns
- Interacting with our members and guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way
The kind of person we're looking for:
- You have a deep understanding, and fantastic track record of using all digital formats (written, video and photography) and the channels they are distributed through; you also have strong social media and content creation experience with demonstrable examples of creating and managing integrated social media campaigns
- Essential to this role, you like to write and have a creative flair and your copywriting and storytelling skills are strong
- Passionate for photography, videography and creativity, it’s more than just for work
- Tuned into what's going on in Edinburgh, you have an innate finger on the pulse of the coolest going on in and around Scotland’s capital
- You have a little black book of content creators; videographers, copywriters, photographers, and you know exactly who to lean on to get high quality content produced at pace
- Proficient in using multi-social posting programmes, you ideally have a working knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and internet ranking for web content
- Hospitality and private members’ clubs experience are not essential, we want you however to really demonstrate your understanding of how to build a meaningful lifestyle brand with the equity to deliver commercial objectives
