We are seeking a talented and passionate Social Media Strategist to join our team in Baltimore City and Washington, DC. As a Social Media Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and executing effective social media strategies to promote our services, engage our target audience, and raise awareness about our services offering support specifically affecting marginalized communities. Your expertise in social media platforms, content creation, and community management will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Social Media Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with our firm's goals, values, and target audience. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices for engaging Black and Brown communities.
- Content Creation and Management: Create compelling and culturally sensitive content for various social media platforms, including written posts, graphics, videos, and infographics. Collaborate with the marketing team and mental health professionals to ensure content reflects our firm's expertise and resonates with our audience.
- Community Engagement: Monitor and engage with our social media communities by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly. Foster meaningful interactions and build relationships with our audience, encouraging discussions and providing support.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance metrics, such as engagement, reach, conversion rates, and audience demographics. Generate regular reports to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and inform future strategies.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Identify and leverage opportunities to collaborate with influencers, organizations, and community leaders within the Black and Brown communities. Seek partnerships that align with our mission and increase our reach and impact.
- Crisis Management: Monitor social media platforms for potential crises or sensitive issues related to mental health and ensure appropriate and timely responses. Work closely with the communications team to develop crisis communication plans and execute them effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Strategist or similar role, preferably in the mental health or non-profit sector.
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for organic and paid campaigns.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and sensitivities surrounding mental health in Black and Brown communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in content creation tools, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
- Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics).
- Familiarity with SEO principles and practices to optimize content for search engines.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to promoting mental well-being within marginalized communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with mental health professionals or organizations focused on racial and ethnic disparities in mental health.
- Knowledge of local resources and community networks in Baltimore City and Washington, DC.
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills.
- Familiarity with email marketing and CRM software.
