What’s the role about?
As a leader in the social team, you will lead the Content, Community and Advocacy department to drive best in class social across owned, earned and paid.
With a creative eye this leader will know how to create social content that drives conversation, taps into cultural moments and builds advocacy amongst our communities.
Leading the advocacy department, you will be an expert in influencer marketing across key channels Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, Pinterest and others as well as leading and scaling the award winning employee advocacy programme We Are Partners.
Through leading social media marketing you will engage customers with key messages through multiple channels to meet brand, customer and commercial outcomes.
This is an FTC role for up to 12 months.
What you’ll be doing?
Responsible for setting and delivering the social media strategy across content, advocacy (influencers/creators and the John Lewis employee programme We Are Partners) plus community business plan and budget, designing and executing 360° cross-category social marketing campaigns which build a seamless omni-channel customer experience of the John Lewis brand, delivering against commercial and brand growth objectives
Engaging senior stakeholders to educate and influence around the role of Social Marketing. You will be explaining performance both in terms of customer and business impact, gaining advocates to ensure buy-in to budget decisions, projects, optimisations etc. Seek opportunities to leverage Partnership initiatives and outcomes where possible
Lead and influence all areas of the Partnership’s content and advocacy social media activity: influencer marketing, employee advocacy, organic social marketing, social content development, community management and customer services
Design and iterate the Partnership’s use of social media to optimise engagement with key brand messages and use of paid content
Ensure that social marketing spend is tracked and that the resulting data is utilised to continually improve our approaches and return on investment across each brand, customer and commercials
Ensure that frameworks and approaches allow for fast and impactful adjustments, feeding into other communities, such as Trading and eCommerce, to do so
Be a thought leader, creative, intuitive, persuasive and influential, especially when it comes to building support from the wider business to support marketing campaigns to support the proposition
Set a culture of high performance and empowerment in both your immediate team as well as creating an ambitious and collaborative culture for the wider marketing teams to work.
Support the Head of Social in leadership of the team and building a high performing team unit.
What will you have
Significant experience in developing social propositions in a high profile multi-channel consumer brand or senior expertise agency side.
Significant experience of leading social and community strategies
Significant experience in social marketing communications & campaign experience across all consumer channels
Experience working with complex projects and managing multiple stakeholders
Commercial awareness with accurate forecasting and budget control
Highly skilled in working with data and converting data into actionable insights
Experience of managing large teams and working collaboratively
Proven track record of people management and development
Demonstrable experience of influencing cross functional stakeholders up to board level
Confident working in a high pressure, challenging environment with high accountability
Excellent written and verbal skills
Capability to balance both short term and long term goals.
