Job description
- Write, edit and optimise day-to-day social posts across a range of platforms (including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Pinterest, and potentially TikTok)
- Keep abreast of new developments in social media, on existing platforms and new areas
- Work closely with the Tatler’s Digital Director, Editor in Chief and Features Director on social media strategy, creating a strong bridge between the print magazine and our social media presence
- Oversee the monthly social media ‘cover drops’ for each print issue, working with the print features team, the Condé Nast press office and cover stars’ PR teams to magnify the impact of each cover reveal and surrounding content (such as our Tea With Tatler YouTube franchise), and other applicable features from print
- Compile weekly social media performance reports and stay on top of social media performance of monthly cover drops, tentpole events and key brand moments (eg. Tatler’s annual Little Black Book party, major royal events)
- Grow and develop communities on social media platforms
- Maintain and update a social media calendar
- Increase our video presence by coming up with concepts for new franchises, as well as videos to accompany print content and bring it to life on Tatler.com.
- Come up with concepts, write copy and give feedback on short-form social media videos, including taking direction from CNE (Condé Nast Entertainment) and working with Tatler’s Bookings Editor and Video Producer
- Work with the digital team on responding to challenges such as platform changes and quiet news periods to help mitigate impact on social media engagement and traffic
- Occasionally approve dark social posts with the commercial team to ensure the visuals and copy are on brand and in keeping with the Editor in Chief’s vision for the brand
Who you are:
- Strong background of working in social media, with an enviable track record of growing traffic from social
- Proficient at using popular social media platforms (including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok)
- A skillful, fluent writer with a strong grasp of spelling and grammar; you are someone who is diligent and observant with a keen eye for detail
- Expertise in PhotoShop
- Expertise in content management systems
- An intuitive, and analytical, understanding how audiences use social media
- A passion for social media and digital platforms and a keen follower of talent, brands and Influencers across the industry
- Experience in using video editing software is an advantage (basic filming and editing skills for short-form social media video is desired)
- A creative thinker brimming with new ideas and enthusiasm
- A collaborative team-player willing to work out of hours when it is required
- An awareness of Tatler’s brand identity, content pillars and editorial tone
- Experience with social media scheduling and data analytics tools, including Dash Hudson, SocialFlow, CrowdTangle and Google Analytics is a plus
- Knowledge of SEO is a plus
