The world of communications is changing rapidly. With 3.6bn social media users worldwide, and an expected 4.4bn users by 2025, social media has overtaken PR and Paid content as the primary, always-on platform to host, promote and share brand storytelling. It has also become an incredibly powerful, cost-efficient, hyper targeted selling tool. For customers, social media uniquely allows direct engagement with brands in full public view, necessitating real-time, connected reputation management programmes that manage customer satisfaction, crisis mitigation and ultimately loyalty.
In recognition of the value of the channel across the entire customer lifecycle, JLR has created a new Global Social Media team, which forms part of the Global Communications department within Commercial. This newly created role will support the ideation and execution of social first creative to be used on JLR social channels. The Social Media Creative Specialist will have an in depth understanding of creative behaviours on TikTok and Instagram primarily. In line with our Modern Luxury House of Brands strategy the candidate must have a good understanding of the luxury sector and be able to execute social creative in line with this vision.
The Social Media Creative Specialist will be hands on with the creation of social first content and must be comfortable in shooting environments whether on location or in studio. The candidate must be hands on and able to work a camera for video and photo capture as well as having post production capabilities. The Social Media Creative Specialist will be a subject matter expert in the field of social content and will also be required to share knowledge and upskill across the business where needed.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Achieve consistency in delivery of the social-first creative across brands
- Join a high-performing team with a transformational mindset, bringing external expertise into JLR and building our expertise into a world class modern luxury social media unit
- Support our brand appropriate global social media governance framework to drive efficiency and best practice, delivering savings in content production, FMI spend, and customer service delivery
- Use social media as a test bed to drive innovation in messaging, audience profiling and engagement tactics, feeding back to global teams any trends/opportunities to be implemented in ongoing campaign development
- Provide inspirational and creative thought leadership on ways to reach and gain the attention of target audiences for modern luxury
- Expertly curate different kinds of creative output to a high standard in line with our modern luxury vision
- Manage the production process from start to finish – briefing to coordinating, shooting and editing to final approval and go live
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As the Social Media Creative Executive, you’ll need the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Excellent understanding of current and emerging social media platforms
- Confident generating social first creative
- Mid-level practice of photography
- Mid-level practice of videography
- Mid-level photo edit experience with photoshop or similar
- Mid-level video edit experience with premier pro, final cut pro or similar
- Comfortable with both studio and location set up and execution for photo/video and lighting
- Experience managing creative agencies
