Salary: £28,929 to £29,762 with progression to £32,411 per annum

The Role
The core functions of the role are to manage the communities on the University’s core social media accounts and to develop content optimised for sharing on social media.
The role is supported by a Social Media Assistant as well as the wider Marketing Unit including teams of copy writers, digital content creators, marketing insights specialists and web teams.
Due to the nature of social media communications, the role does involve occasional work outside of standard office hours.

Key Accountabilities
Plan, create, manage and evaluate content for the University’s core social media accounts
Organise, coordinate and develop both original and user-generated content in a range of multimedia formats (text, audio, video, graphics, and photographs) for sharing on various social media
Use social media management tools to schedule, publish, monitor and report on activity
Manage content production by a team of student content creators
Support the Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager with campaign development
Community management and content development for student recruitment, current student communications, alumni engagement, staff engagement, business development and research and reputation campaigns
Attend events and capture live social media content
Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
Contribute to the monitoring, measurement and evaluation of social media activities including producing regular social media analytics reports to measure impact
Support internal communications and engagement activities associated with the Social Media Strategy
Contribute to the delivery of social media training activities and provide advice and guidance to colleagues in the use of social media marketing
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
Proven experience in social media community management for a large brand, either internal team or through agency
Awareness of emerging trends and developments in digital and social media
Demonstrable experience of managing social media accounts on
Twitter
Instagram
LinkedIn
Tik Tok
Snapchat
Facebook
Experience with crisis management and customer support through social media
An understanding of social media reputational management
Experience in using social media management tools and technologies such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite
Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite incl. Photoshop, Premier Pro
Strong copywriting skills, with an ability to write compelling, clear and accurate social media copy in a range of styles appropriate to target audiences and mediums (including post copy, blogs, video scripts etc.)
Demonstrable experience of social media analytics and Google Analytics to monitor, measure and evaluate social media performance
Awareness and understanding of issues relating to digital communications including understanding digital rights usage and copyright
Knowledge of using social media marketing to meet a range of audiences such as 16-21 year olds, business to business, international stakeholders and more
Experience in engaging others to deliver successful projects

Ability to deliver engaging presentations, training and advice to support and lead others in the use of social media
Outstanding relationship building skills including the ability to develop close working relationships in teams and with colleagues across the University
Educated to at least A level standard or equivalent, or possess substantial and broad vocational experience acquired through a combination of job related vocational training and on the job experience
