Social Media & Communications Officer

College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) with travel to John Ruskin College (Croydon)

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:45-17:00 (37 hours/week)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Media & Communications professional to join a dynamic team and support the growth development Orbital South Colleges.

As part of the Communications branch of the marketing team, you’ll manage the Colleges digital channels including social media, email marketing and website. You’ll be responding to queries, creating engaging digital content that is relevant to target audiences in support of both strategic and tactical objectives and monitoring and reporting on the success of this content.

You will create and lead on the delivery of online marketing activity that drives student enrolment and liaise with the design team to create engaging assets for use across different social media channels, website and emails. You will also manage and develop the College websites using a Content Management System and support all relevant College departments producing customer-facing communication to ensure a continuous and consistent message.

As a person, you’ll be highly organised and able to balance multiple projects whilst liaising with a wide range of audiences at all levels across the College Group and also be able to work both independently and in a team.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Proven experience in a digital marketing role, working on websites
  • Exemplary copywriting and proof-reading skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of social media marketing/management for an organisation
  • Experience of email marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and working cross departmentally
