TFW Group Ltd is a privately owned, professional geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering and site investigation consultancy, established in 2000. Operating from Pentwyn, Cardiff and throughout the UK we provide environmental and geotechnical advice and solutions to a range of clientele from individuals to national companies.
We are on the lookout for a Site Technician to join our hardworking and dedicated site team. Your princiapl accountabilities would be (but not limited to) as follows:
1. Carrying out daily tasks from the work calendar as allocated and instructed by the Lead Driller, in order to manage company resources effectively and efficiently
2. Following instructions on site from supervising Engineering Geologists and/or Clients
3. Responsible for allocated company equipment, including:
- Carrying out daily safety checks
- Cleaning
- Security
4. Operation of the companies drilling rig
5. Transportation of water to site using company bowser
6. Undertaking soakaway testing to BRE365 standards
7. Carry out in-situ plate barring and CBR testing
8. Undertake gas and groundwater monitoring
9. Covering absence of the Lead Driller when required
10. Travel and overnight stays
11. Undertake any other duties that may be required
12. Comply with the relevant sections of the company’s policy statement on health, safety and welfare at work
13. Adhere to the principles of the company’s equality policy and ensure commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
Experience and Skills
Experience of working on a construction site- Essential
Possession of a valid CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain one)- Desirable
Towing License (or willingness to obtain one)- Desirable
Full and Clean UK Driving License- Essential

This job is subject to the full checking procedure for any Licenses held and to Health Surveillance to confirm your suitability for the role.
