Job Description
A new role is available for an experienced multi skilled maintenance engineer/technician to join our well-established site services team. The role is Monday to Friday, on-site, 8 am to 4 pm with out of hours support to assist operational activities. Main duties to include, maintaining and servicing the plant, equipment and associated services supporting a multi-function team covering both mechanical and electrical areas.
To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a development environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and passion for continuous improvement.
Principle Accountabilities
- Responsible for the execution of agreed planned/corrective maintenance tasks and take an active role in improving the way we carry out maintenance
- Recommend and advise on preventive maintenance improvements and spare parts requirements in order to achieve maximum availability of plant & equipment
- Draw information from internal and external sources with the ability to analyse and interpret information and data
- You will work with OEMs to understand equipment capabilities and come up with forward thinking solutions to essential modifications and upgrades
- Assist with asset projects from concept and design through to implementation, testing and final handover ensuring that asset drawings and registers are updated to reflect the changes
- Support Operations in equipment setup and training of operators in activities
- Have a strong mechanical background, working on motors, pumps, belts, bearings, pneumatics, fabricating etc
- Take part in regular inspections/audits for good housekeeping, machine safety and ensure agreed action are completed
- Diagnose and carry out mechanical repairs, modifications, machine upgrades and installation
- Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and all other Plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
- Supporting Facilities coordinator with site compliance, KPI’s, Contractor documentation inc. service and calibration record management
- Ensure H&S rules and procedures are understood and followed on all tasks and improvements
- General housekeeping, maintaining clean, safe and tidy work area free of rubbish and obsolete materials

Education, Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Educated to level 3 NVQ or hold a recognised engineering qualification
- Experience in planned preventative asset maintenance
- Previous Experience of working within a GMP manufacturing cleanroom environment
- Thorough, disciplined, well-structured and pro-active approach to tasks
- Excellent organisation skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening) with the ability to interact and communicate in a manner applicable to all levels.
- Ability to integrate well as a part of a team
- A good team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office/Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.

- Health & Safety Experience
Desirable
- Experience of group reporting systems
- Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist and fabrication skill sets
- Educated to level 1 NVQ or hold a similar recognised electrical qualification
