The Role
Working as part of a busy team the site officer performs a range of services in support of activities and events occurring at the College. One of the key roles of the Site Officers is to take pride in the buildings of the College and to ensure they are in the best possible condition for use by the College community.
Responsibilities:
Patrol the campus and carry out scheduled tasks which may include any or all of the following:
Furniture movement, large scale event set up / pack down, undertaking office moves, setting up meeting rooms and distributing supplies
Opening up buildings, classrooms and general use areas
Checking for cleanliness, damage or breakages and that all furniture and fittings are serviceable
Site patrols of all buildings and fields to carry out lock-up and unlocking procedures of all facilities and to monitor potential security issues
To manage gates, parking and all traffic movement onsite
Use of security CCTV (training will be provided)
To report all Health & Safety and Maintenance issues immediately via the Maintenance Department Helpdesk
Act as a fire marshal when required, carrying our weekly checks accordingly
Completion of a daily incident report log
To deal with pupils’ belongings left around the buildings according to established procedures
To facilitate and assist waste & recycling collection visits from external contractors

Qualifications, Skills, Personal Qualities and Attributes
Physical capability to carry out tasks involving manual handling and portering requirements
Computer Literacy
Initiative in dealing with any problems that may arise whilst on patrol/shift
Reliable, presentable, confident, dependable, a good listener. Willingness to get stuck in
Honest and punctual with a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to duties
Additional information
Police Clearance: The appointment is subject to police clearance as required by law for the protection of children and to compliance with proof of identity and addresses over the last five years in accordance with the stipulations laid down by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
Shifts are 12 hours long with the exception of one 8hr shift a week that we refer to as a Middle shift.
Shifts are: Day (D) 7am - 7pm, Night (N) 7pm - 7am, Middle (M) 7am - 4pm

Salary £12.34 per hour for all hours worked including bank holidays, weekends etc. The rate is annualised and paid in twelve equal monthly instalments.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week. The work pattern is based on working with other Site Officers on a roster basis that includes weekends, afternoons and overnight work. Flexibility both in terms of duties and working hours is essential.
