Job Title: SIA Security Guard
Job Summary:
The SIA Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the designated premises or property. They will monitor activities on site and ensure compliance with security regulations and procedures to safeguard the premises against unauthorized access, theft, damage, or any potential security threats. The SIA Security Guard will also be expected to provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively, and handle any urgent situations or emergencies that may arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular security patrols to ensure the safety and security of the designated premises or property.
- Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systems to detect and prevent potential security breaches.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures, including conducting searches or inspections if required.
- Monitor and manage the entry and exit of individuals, vehicles, and goods, ensuring proper identification and documentation as necessary.
- Respond to and investigate incidents or disturbances promptly and effectively, maintaining composure and professionalism at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, colleagues, and clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, or requests cordially and efficiently.
- Report any security breaches, maintenance issues, or suspicious activities promptly to the appropriate authorities.
- Collaborate with emergency services, such as police or fire departments, in case of emergencies or incidents that require their intervention.
- Remain knowledgeable of the premises layout, emergency procedures, and all security-related equipment to facilitate quick and appropriate responses.
- Complete all required paperwork, incident reports, and logs accurately and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Valid SIA Security Guard license.
- Proven experience in a similar security-related role is preferred.
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Physical fitness and capability to handle emergency situations, standing or walking for extended periods as required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexible availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining logs and incident reports.
