Working Hours:
40hours per week – 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
1 hour – Unpaid Lunch Break.
We are recruiting one Shutter Assembly Operative, based at our Ashton Road site in Hyde
As our Shutter Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for cleaning, packaging, and dispatching our bespoke Shutters to our high standards to eliminate the possibility of carrier damage.
Full on the job training will be provided.
If successful you will complete a three-month probation period.

Job Title: Shutter Assembly Operative

Responsible To: Components Production Manager and Shutter Supervisor

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reading from a works order.
- To ensure that the Shutters are manufactured to an exact size and specification as detailed in the works order.
- To insert and glue correct end cap into Louver.
- To inspect, check and clean prior to despatch
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Louvers / Rails
- Collect Louvers and Rails from Holding area, check to ensure the correct number of Louvers and rails are present and have the correct work order number.
- Check for damage to Louvers from chipping in the cutting process.
- Insert and glue in correct end cap into Louver.
- The use of some hand held tools will be required.
- Transfer the assembled parts to the Panel Build holding area.
- Ensure work order number is clearly marked.
Finished shutter Assembly
- Collect finished frame and panels from holding area.
- Layout and establish hinge position and check for opening configuration.
- The use of handheld drill and some manual tools will be required during the assembly process.
- Inspect and check operation.
- Transfer to the cleaning and packaging area.
Cleaning and Packing
- Collect finished Shutter from holding area, inspected, and cleaned.
- Quality control to issue approved check.
- Ensure the shutter is well protected to avoid damage during transportation.
- The used of the wrapping machine will be required.
- Continuous checks should be made throughout the whole process to ensure minimal errors occur.
General
- Some physical lifting of medium loads may be necessary during the course of the working day.
- Your workplace and working area must be kept clean and tidy. Good housekeeping standards are important, thus, any concerns raised will reflect on the individuals concerned.
- Safety footwear is deemed compulsory in this area and must be worn at all times.
- Perform within the requirements of your position and to the companies Health & Safety standards, as defined in the company Health & Safety Policy.
- To carry out any other duties when required. This could involve working in other departments within the factory as and when deemed necessary.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Good level of numeracy and literacy.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
