Short Term Break Support Worker

Location: Bolton BL2 1JG

Salary: £10.90 per hour, annual leave paid at the same rate.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Flexible to meet the needs of the service. 25 Hrs per week

At our Short Breaks service in Bolton we are looking to recruit 3 Support Workers who will deliver high quality, compassionate care and support and offer the right candidates an opportunity to work closely with people in identifying and realising aspirations which is both exciting and rewarding.

About the Support Worker role:

Whilst mainly working from our Short Breaks Service in Bolton, we operate a supportive workforce culture in making sure that we are connecting people in with the community, accessing a range of social and leisure activities and achieving outcomes. This may require you at times to support across services to enable full access to all amenities.

A flexible approach in your pattern of supporting people will ensure we meet the needs of the people we support and will entail working some weekend Bank Holidays and daytime and evening shifts on a rota basis.

Responsibilities:

·Supporting people to identify their aspirations

·Supporting the planning and delivery of activities

·Working with people with complex needs and disabilities.

· Undertake personal care tasks, while maintaining people’s privacy and dignity.

· Supporting people with their medication

· Helping people live more independently and undertake life enhancing activities.

· Ensure people’s needs are at the heart of everything we do.

· Work with care managers and health colleagues to implement and support therapy plans.

Experience and skills required:
