Job description

Greg Hill Flooring is an independent business in Ruddington. We specialise in carpets and flooring for mainly domestic and commercial clients.

We are seeking a Shop Assistant/ Shop Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the senior manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, from customer service to administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to learn the ropes or further their skills of management and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of day to day running of our retail premises.
  • Quantify and pricing of materials.
  • Provide support to the team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication systems with internal and external customers.
  • Understand the principles of customer service and demonstrate them in all interactions.
  • Able to unload deliveries, lift materials and assist fitters on site.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist with their needs
- Operate financial transactions
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of merchandise
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction

Experience:
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of retail math, including calculating discounts and sales tax
- Strong communication skills in English
