Shop and Retail Manager
Shelleys at Highcliffe Bakery, trading now for nearly forty years, is looking for someone to take over all aspects of the retailing operation at our brilliant bakery. We are a different bakery to most others in that we have a huge range of fresh cakes, breads and savoury products with a variety of outlets in which we sell them. We don’t wholesale and almost all of our breads and cakes are made on the premises in Highcliffe. We also produce both Traditional and Artisan products across our range. This unique and diverse operation needs an enthusiastic, experienced, creative and dedicated person to oversee and manage all aspects of the sales side of the business. That includes events, shows, and markets, outside catering as well as the shop. We’ve been managing that ourselves “in-house” for too long now and need someone with the vision and capability to sell, teach to sell and promote the business through social media and other routes of advertising.
There will be plenty of support and help and we don’t expect anyone to come fully equipped. But this position is a way of life role and therefore experience and commitment to the business and your own success is paramount. We can fill in the gaps with you! And we have a great team to support that position too.
This is a challenging job and will require multi tasking, time and action management, great organisational ability and the awareness to ensure all tasks are completed in a professional and enthusiastic way. Customer service and staff relations are also paramount to a successful operation.
